Emergency Radios On the Way
BEREA - Madison County residents will soon be receiving new emergency radios.
Michael Bryant of the Madison County Emergency Management Agency addressed the Berea City Council Tuesday night, noting that radios will be delivered to homes within a nine mile radius of the Blue Grass Army Depot.
Bryant said the radius area had been confined to homes within 6.2 miles of the depot, but that was recently revised.
The new radios will enable residents to monitor pre-set radio stations for emergency information, and they will display text as well, Bryant said.
Bryant encouraged city residents to study the emergency calendar distributed by CSEPP and the county, and for residents to be aware of the emergency zone in which they reside.
