Three Richmond Robberies, Assaults Reported Wednesday

RICHMOND - Two armed robberies are under investigation in Richmond in which the perpetrators demanded drugs at gunpoint.

One Wednesday at approximately 4:25 P.M., police were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Walnut Street to investigate a reported burglary. Upon arrival, officers discovered that two black male suspects had forced their way into the home through a side door, brandished handguns, and demanded “pills” from the two female residents. The residents indicated that there were no pills in the residence at which time the suspects asked by a person by name. The residents said that no such person lived there. The suspects then took two cellular telephones belonging to the residents and fled from the residence. The suspects were described as follows: #1 – black male, 6’0”, 230 pounds, wearing a black nylon jacket, blue jeans and a ski mask; #2 – black male, 5’7”, 200 pounds, wearing a white hoodie, blue jeans and a stocking over his head. Both suspects were armed with handguns. No one was injured in the incident.

In another reported robbery on Wednesday, police were dispatched to a residence at approximately 9 p.m. in the 500 block of North Second Street to investigate a reported robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that a black male had forced entry into residence through the front door and demanded pills from the residents. The suspect was armed with a handgun that he held on a one year old child in the residence while he searched for pills. The suspect also physically assaulted one of the adult residents before fleeing with several types of prescription medication and a cellular telephone belonging to the residents. The child was not injured in the incident but the adult required treatment for minor injuries received when she was assaulted. The suspect was described as follows: Black male, 6’0”, wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a black ski mask.

On other robbery was reported Wednesday:

Robbery: On 02/03/2010, at approximately 9:04 P.M., police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of North Madison Avenue to investigate a reported robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that three white males and a white female known to the victim physically assaulted him and stole an undisclosed amount of money from him. After the altercation, the victim reported that his pregnant girlfriend was nearly struck by the suspects’ vehicle as they fled the scene. The victim was treated at PACRMC for facial lacerations and released.

Investigators are pursuing several leads in connection with the above incidents.
